Lockers Magic Kingdom: Rent One to Make Your Day Easier
Did you know there are lockers at Magic Kingdom available for guests to rent?! It’s true! The lockers are there to help make your day at Magic Kingdom a little easier by holding items you need while visiting, but don’t want to carry around all day.
Let’s take a look at some things you should know about renting a locker at Magic Kingdom.

Magic Kingdom Locker Rental… Should I Get One?
In our opinion, if you are already asking yourself this question, then the answer is probably “yes”. You know your family best and what you are accustomed to needing throughout the day. While a lot of Disney-goers prefer using a “park bag” (backpack) to carry items, many visitors like to store needed items in a locker… especially if they are visiting Magic Kingdom with small kids.
Lockers are great for holding items such as:
- Lunches and Dinners (in soft-sided coolers)
- Jackets
- Souvenirs
- Extra diaper bag supplies
- Change of clothes for young kids
- Hotel and car keys (So you don’t risk losing them.)
Where are the Lockers Located?
As you walk towards the Magic Kingdom, after getting your park ticket scanned for entry, the Locker Rental building will be on your right. It is situated in the corner, just before the walkway that goes underneath the train system.
To save time, try going through the far-right ticket lane closest to the Locker Rental building. That way you don’t have to try to dash across eager park-goers on your way to renting a locker.
TIP: When you need the items in your locker, consider taking a ride on the Walt Disney World Railroad to get back to the park entrance. The train circles the entire park and has boarding available in Fantasyland, Frontierland and the park entrance. It’s a great way to take a quick rest while still getting to the locker area.
How Much Does a Locker Rental Cost?
At the time of our post, a Locker Rental at Magic Kingdom cost between $10.00 to $15.00 per day. The fee depends on which size locker you choose. Magic Kingdom offers Small, Large or Jumbo locker rentals.
Please see “Locker Sizes” section below for measurements.

How Do I Pay for a Locker at Magic Kingdom?
Locker rentals at Magic Kingdom can be paid for using U.S. cash, credit card, Magic Band and Disney Gift Cards.
Paying by U.S. Cash or Credit Card
If you’re paying with cash (U.S.) or a credit card, you’ll need to use a self-serve touch-screen kiosk to secure your rental. The rental kiosks are located inside the locker rental building. They will take you step-by-step through your rental process.
Paying by Magic Band or Disney Gift Card
You can also use a Magic Band or Disney Gift Card to pay for your locker rental. Simply find a Disney Cast Member at a nearby shop and they will be able to assist you with your transaction.
(In our opinion, it may be quicker to just pay for your locker with a credit card, as you eliminate the extra step of finding someone to help… and possibly waiting if they’re already assisting another guest.)
How Big Are the Lockers at Magic Kingdom & What Do They Look Like?
Locker Sizes
Disney offers the following locker sizes at Magic Kingdom:
- Small: 12-inch x 10-inch x 17-inch
- Large: 15.5-inch x 13-inch x 17-inch
- Jumbo: 17-inch x 22-inch x 26-inch
Locker Looks
The lockers at Magic Kingdom are located inside of a building and are pretty much what you’d guess lockers would look like.
Next to the locker handle, there is a keypad. This is where you’ll enter the code you were provided after your credit card rental transaction was completed at the kiosk. If you paid with a Magic Band or Disney Gift Card, the Disney Cast Member that assisted you will provide you with a code. Your code will unlock the door throughout the day.
Can I Store Food in the Lockers at Magic Kingdom?
Yes! You just have to follow a few easy rules regarding outside food and drinks.
Disney World allows guests to bring in their own food and drinks (alcohol is prohibited) as long as they follow a few simple guidelines. From our experience, we’ve been allowed to pack our food and drinks in a small soft-sided cooler with a large reusable icepack.
Your outside food and drinks must adhere to the following rules:
- Drinks of any kind must NOT contain alcohol.
- You cannot store food and drinks in glass containers.
- Food and drinks must not require any heating, reheating or refrigeration/temperature control.
- Food and beverages with strong odors cannot be brought into the park.
For current rules and policies regarding outside food and drink, please visit the Walt Disney World website: Bringing Outside Food & Drink onto Disney Property | Walt Disney World | Walt Disney World
How Long is My Locker Rental Good For?
Your locker rental is good for the entire day that you rent it on, and your locker code will allow you to access your items throughout the day.
Is Renting a Locker at Magic Kingdom Worth It?
In our opinion, for our family of four, it was worth it. We were able to save quite a bit of money by bringing in our own food and drinks. Plus, it helped reduce my stress knowing I was able to provide meals for my kids with food allergies.

I did not know that there were lockers at Magic Kingdom. This is great news as I like to pack for a day but don’t want to cary it around all day. The price is very resonable too.

Locker rentals are so helpful! We’ve used them in big cities, but I could see them being very helpful at Magic Kingdom as well!
Charlene
That’s a great idea when exploring a big city. I know several times I wished I had one when walking around Chicago.

These are great locker tips for Disney & all theme parks really! I love being able to have the extra clothes or snacks but not have to lug them around all day.
Charlene
Very true… a lot of other theme parks offer lockers as well. They certainly made our visit a little easier.

It was a game changer for us with food allergies. 🙂

I am at the point where I will no longer need a stroller so this is perfect to store things!

I love the idea of locker when visiting the Magic Kingdom. What a great way to lighten the load!
Charlene
It was honestly such a huge help! Especially with bringing our own food/drinks into the park for meals.
Cindy
I didn’t know there were lockers! They would be so convenient to use.
Charlene
I was glad to learn of them when we visited… super helpful. 🙂

That’s a good tip about riding the train to get to the lockers. That was always the thing holding me back. I didn’t want to walk all the way to the front of the park to get into the locker. In fact, we used a stroller until my youngest was six partly to store the stuff in the stroller basket! Ha!
Charlene
Good idea! I’m pretty clumsy with a stroller (and I’m short) so I’d probably be terrible at Magic Kingdom pushing one, lol. The train was really nice, we got to sit while still getting to the lockers.
